What to Expect from a Goofy Gary Magic Show
You’ve heard about Goofy Gary. Maybe a friend mentioned him after a party in Prairie Village or Leawood. Maybe you found him searching for a kids magician in Kansas City. Here’s exactly what happens at a Goofy Gary magic show, so you know what you’re booking.
Before the Show
Goofy Gary arrives early to set up. He needs:
- An open performance area roughly 10x10 feet
- Access to a standard power outlet
- An audience of kids ready to participate
That’s it. Gary handles all setup and breakdown himself. You don’t need to provide anything except excited kids.
The Opening
Gary enters with the gravity of a world-touring performer. He’s formally dressed, completely serious, and immediately establishes that this is not going to be a normal magic show. Kids sense something unusual is happening. Parents start smiling.
The Magic (With Hijinks)
The show features real magic tricks with full audience participation. Kids come onstage, help with illusions, and are treated like fellow professionals, not talked down to. Gary addresses children with complete sincerity, which is somehow funnier to adults than to the kids.
JokeBot
Gary performs alongside JokeBot, a bluetooth speaker he treats as a real professional colleague. JokeBot mishears commands, gives deadpan responses, and regularly stirs up hilarious mix-ups that Gary addresses with complete bewilderment. Watching a grown adult get outwitted by a speaker is, empirically, one of the funniest things children have ever seen.
The Birthday Kid’s Moment
The birthday child is the star. Gary selects them as the featured assistant for at least one signature trick, introduces them to the audience with tremendous ceremony, and sends them back to their seat a hero.
The Closer
After the comedy and hijinks, Gary delivers a sincere, genuinely warm closing moment that gives the whole show heart. Kids remember the tricks. Parents remember this part.
Show Length Options
- 45-minute Standard show: The full Goofy Gary experience, and the most popular option for birthday parties
- 60-minute Deluxe show: Everything in Standard, plus a group teach-a-trick for all kids and a custom Goofy Gary Magic Diploma for the birthday child
What Ages Is It Best For?
Goofy Gary performs for kids ages 4–10. The sweet spot is 5–8.
What Parents Say Afterward
Parents consistently report that kids talk about the show for weeks. The combination of real magic, committed comedy, and a character who takes every kid seriously creates something genuinely hard to replicate.
